Build Professional Relationships
Referrals for Psychiatric Consultation
At High and Grounded, our providers are mindful of the frustrations and challenges associated with navigating the mental health system especially when it comes to identifying psychiatric referrals. We focus on building lasting relationships with referents that are characterized by open communication, respect, and trust.
Do you have difficulty finding a psychiatric provider that is able to consistently return your telephone calls? Poor communication is the number one predictor of medical errors. Whether it is receiving updates about your patient's medication changes or obtaining collateral documentation for medical records, our providers make every effort to ensure your needs are met.
Our providers highly value the assets and skills that are brought to the table when working with a multidisciplinary team. In fact, if our patients' needs are beyond the scope of our skills and training, we encourage them to establish a working relationship with a well seasoned therapist. We honor the boundaries that are a part of working within a patient-provider-clinician relationship.
Our providers believe it is their professional obligation to provide psychiatric care that is comprehensive and ethical. We highly value the psychotherapeutic process and relational aspects to care. We are extremely mindful when, and if, we find medication to be a recommendation to our patients. We rarely prescribe controlled substances and only do so when warranted. We also do not believe in "polypharmacy".
